She's exactly what we want to be when we grow up. Classy, timeless, and curvy but fit. Seriously, is there anyone aging more gracefully than Helen Mirren? No crazy face-freezing injections (that WE know of), no overly tightened face lifts that gives older actresses that scary crypt-keeper, bug-eyed look. Bottom line- we LOVE her.
The folks over at Nintendo must be keenly aware of her appeal with women, because they have wisely made her the new face of Wii Fit in the UK. Continuing with their strategy of using celebrities to help promote the brand, the Wii peeps are pushing Helen's endorsement in a series of TV ads that will be shown across the pond. They're expected to launch for the holidays and we're guessing will appeal to the baby boomer crowd as a way to stay fit without having to leave the house and join all the muscle-bound meat-heads in their 20's at the gym.
The sexy 65 year old swears that the Wii is now her new best friend. Reps for the company say they want to show that Wii can help make fitness fun at ANY age. We think the message is a great one and love that they're using Mirrens foxy figure and huge likability factor to push the message. One blogger chatting about Nintendo's choice called her a "Gramazon".... we assume this was a compliment and approve of the clever word combo!
