Kid Cereals Even A Mother Can Love

oc_choc_prod_photo2d

It's hard to find a kid who doesn't like Count Chocula, Lucky Charms or Captain Crunch. But are these something our kids should be eating? We've got the perfect compromise. Today we're sharing a few favorite cereals that kids LOVE and a mother can approve.

We kick it off with Cheerios. Not the regular variety though. As strange as it may seem we are excited about Chocolate Cheerios. They are tasty, kids love them and they're surprisingly not loaded with sugar. One 3/4 cup serving is 100 calories, just 1 gram of fat, and 9 grams of sugar. Never mind a bowl of these with milk. We see endless recipe opportunities with these multi colored Os.

A favorite at Chris' house is Kashi's Honey Sunshine. Frankly, we love anything from Kashi. This cereal is a combination of seven whole grains rolled into bite-sized crunchy delights. They have a touch of sweet wildflower honey to bring kids back for more. Each 3/4 cup serving has 6 grams of wholesome fiber and is just 100 calories, 1.5 grams of fat, and 6 grams sugar.

Of course there's always Kix. They actually wrote the book on healthy cereals kids love. Kix is made from all natural corn with just 110 calories. A serving of Kix is almost twice the size of Chocolate Cheerios or Kashi's Honey Sunshine. You can have a cup and a quarter for just 110 calories. There's only 1 gram of fat, 3 grams of fiber and only 3 grams sugar.

Hope you enjoy and have a great Mother's Day!

I _love_ Kashi honey sunshine! I eat it dry as a snack and it's really filling because of the fiber.

Chocolate Cheerios are a big hit here. One kid only likes "sweet" cereal so this is a compromise I can live with.
