Little in the Middle

Jeans that fit. They're as elusive as Sasquatch. More precious than the Hope Diamond. At least for us curvy girls that is. Once upon a time, ALL jeans fit us cute it seemed. The waist was tiny & legs were wide. Of course, that was the 1980's, and they were pleated and peg-legged too. Much has changed in fashion since then, but unfortunately our figures have not.

Thank goodness for designers we can celebrate. Designers that don't hate women. Designers like Lee Ann Park. Ms. Park is the brilliant lady behind the booty-lovin' brand, "Little in the Middle". Creating her line specifically to flatter the woman who wouldn't be caught dead wearing "mom jeans", but isn't shaped like her 13 year old daughter either, this collection is cute and cut just right.

Using a "1-Up" sizing system, shoppers are encourage to fit their waist size with the understanding that the hips will be cut one size up. LOVE it! We like to think the jeans were named for adjectives that describe the way we all feel in a hot pair of jeans that hug the curves right. "Bold", "Confident" and "Empowered". There are several washes to choose from in each style, but Stone River is the double favorite around here.

Bold hues are making another strong appearance this spring, and if you're among those sassy enough to sport 'em, you can also grab Little in the Middle styles in vibrant shades of red, pink, and yellow. Though we always debate the wisdom of white on bottom, Chris LOVED the way these jeans looked on hers. Little in the Middle jeans retail between $99-$129. We even spotted some sale prices on their site just before going to press with this story- a few of the jeans in the collection are on sale for $89. Yahoo!

I think this is still not what women who are over 50 want...how hard is it to get something for us? Does not look like it takes care of the "Muffin Top" to me.

I'm 55, love the look, and am not enamored with the price. I find myself bothered by paying twice the price for what I need, particularly now that I am able to wear size 16 after size 36.

I never feel comfortable in pants down that low on my stomach. I like them up at my waist--I think Coldwater Creek calls it "classic fit". They feel more secure. I like the not-so-new "relaxed fit" jeans--they seem to fit well, just have trouble finding those that sit above my hairline!!!!
