Alison Lost 70 Pounds

Alison's story in her own words...

My name is Alison Pollock. I am 41 years old (though my husband is trained to tell people that I am in my "very late 30s" :-), am married, and work full time as a data analyst. I have two children: a 5 1/2 year old daughter and a 2-1/2 year old son.  I've been overweight the bulk of my life (no pun intended), and spent my adulthood on one diet after another. I lost weight on some, gained on others, but always ended up heavier than where I started.

When I was pregnant with my son, I took it as a last hurrah, and managed to gain over 34 pounds. When he was born and I got over the shock that I hadn't given birth to a 34 pound baby, I knew I had a lot of work ahead of me. I started on Weight Watchers in April of 2008, and lost 34 pounds; however, I wasn't really exercising much, and though I ate "less", I still wasn't eating "well".

Right when I was stuck in this rut, I met my health coach Peter K of Peter K Fitness in July of 2008. My company brought him in to deliver a talk on exercise and nutrition. Peter's main concept is to start small and build up slowly, which helps to ensure success. I started working with Peter one on one, and since then I have lost another 36 pounds and am in the best shape of my life.

I reached my goal weight in May of 2009, and have kept it off for 16 months (and counting :-).  With Peter's coaching, in the past year I have completed 4 half marathons and 3 triathlons. Most importantly, though, I have learned to believe in myself and to know that anything is possible.

Way to go Alison. We love mom's who can devote time to being healthy! YAHOO!
