Monique's Journey Week 11

How's it going out there in "Cyber Land"?!?  Is everyone staying on track?  Have you FALLEN and you can't get up?  If so, Just remember that "Momma said there'd be days like THIS" so, DON'T WORRY!!!!  Because "Troubles", They DON'T last Always!! ;-)

As for me, I am FEELING GREAT!!!  I had a few "stumbling blocks" these last couple of weeks BUT I have turned them into STEPPING STONES!! ;-) I had the BEST RUN on the pier yesterday!!!  I'm getting stronger (and LIGHTER) EVERYDAY!!!

WEEKLY WEIGH-IN 264 (1.7 pound loss)

quote inspirational

Kimmie Week 11

I am in the exercise groove.  I have found my mojo and strength and all that stuff.  I am finally feeling guilty if I do not exercise daily.  I love the high.  Don’t get me wrong, I still struggle with going to do it some days but the I do it!  I am still struggling with my nutrition.  I say struggling but what I really mean is that my calories could be a little better but my choices definitely could be better.  One thing Coach Kim and I talked about this week was eating on the run.  She gave me some great suggestions and my goal is to have things available to me this week for breakfast so that I am not tempted with fast food.

I don’t know if anybody else is like this but on this journey, I have tons of knowledge.  I know what I am supposed to do, I even know what works and doesn’t work.  However, I still struggle with it.  I still make bad choices.  I fear that sometimes I get caught up in the whole “trying to be perfect” syndrome.  If I can’t do it perfectly, I end up throwing up the towel and on the day/week.

This summer has been full of vacations and mini trips.  Just this past weekend I ended up meeting a friend in Atlantic City, NJ for an overnight stay.  I was super proud of myself because we planned our cooler for healthy snacks on Saturday and we planned exercise.  Early Saturday morning before hitting the beach we walked the boardwalk and then did the same thing Sunday.  We took stairs in the parking garage and really made a conscience effort to do more moving.  We ate dinner out on Saturday and breakfast and lunch out on Sunday and I made decent choices.  BUT, I have realized after evaluating that I really could have done better.  I will not lie to you or myself, I still struggle with going out to eat.  I do just fine when I am preparing the meal, but when faced with different temptations is when I don’t always make the best choices.

This coming week, I am going to focus on meals on the fly.  I hope to report another successful week to you next week!

Coach Kim
bodybugg phone Party… BACK ON !!!

We had a really great start evaluating all progress up to this point utilizing bodybugg.

Reviewing light bulb moments in areas both Kimmie and Mo were continuing to experience, we determined next steps to ensure our dynamo duo moves forward successfully in reaching their goals:  weight loss, fitness and in general overall optimal health…which was indeed the highlight of our call.

Before we go there, one thing we did really hit on – VACATION SEASON!  This definitely has been more of a prominent topic this Two-Scoops time around, and as most of us experience, this summertime fun can pull us completely off track regarding our weight management game plan.

Now, with bodybugg assistance, awareness and better choices are already being displayed by both Kimmie and Mo.   If not in the beginning, continued practice of managing “your numbers” immaterial of the environment will become second nature.
This is KEY and a huge part of what bodybugg is all about-

LIFESTYLE CHANGE FOR ALWAYS

Ok – our big focus, prompted by Kimmie and Mo’s inquires when we were assessing next steps and recommendations – SUPPLEMENTATION.

I was absolutely able to offer quite a bit of advice here, as the bodybugg application is housed within a website by 24 Hour Fitness and Apex – which provides a complete product assortment from an Optimal Health line to Healthy Snacks.  Mo, Kimmie and I definitely tied this into our next step discussion to continue to move forward healthfully in reaching weight loss goals.

First, let’s hit on optimal health –

Mo asked me what I thought about taking a multivitamin.  Here was my question back to her:

“If you are trying to lose weight and are consuming fewer calories than you are burning, therefore less vitamins and minerals, how is it possible to be getting what your body needs?”

Answer:  MULTIVITAMIN – and guess what?  It’s nutrients WITHOUT calories!  Hmmm…GET IT??  Kind of a big bonus regarding that whole calorie deficit thing…

Yes.  Mo, Kimmie and I definitely discussed the importance of taking a multivitamin and my recommendations on pointing them in the right direction as to what type and where to find a high quality one – either on the bodybugg/myapex website or at 24 Hour Fitness’s MyStore:  http://mystore.24hourfitness.com/

Now, let’s hit on healthy snacks –
week11_bars
Applicable to most of us…WE ARE ON THE GO ALL THE TIME!  This is a big topic for Kimmie, especially when heading out the door first thing in the morning.  We all know we should begin our day with a healthy breakfast, but do we?  HA!

My recommendation/solution to this, missing meals or snacks, is to have “meal replacements” handy all the time.  It can be either a nutritional shake or bar…and there are now so many choices out there when finding your preference.  If you are trying to eat every 3 to 4 hours during a busy day, GOODLUCK!  Unless you’re a big time master planner…and then most likely you’re not also packing for five kiddos.  Though, maybe so…don’t want to insult anyone out there.  ;)  By the way, the types of snacks I recommended to our duo also work for those running out the door to school without breakfast.  AND, if you do happen to be near a 24 Hour Fitness Club, it doesn’t hurt to pop in to try a few of the single Apex products to decide your FAVS…

Again, I pointed them in a direction to find quick yummy breakfast and afternoon snacks.  These also happen to assist when you are exercising and need to eat before and/or after you workout…which we’ve discussed and will revisit again soon.  Kimmie and Mo are really getting back into their workout routines!

SO, Kimmie and Mo are off again to make those results happen and will be flying solo next week as I hit a ZUMBA convention for 24 Hour Fitness in Orlando, to educate others about bodybugg of course.
Shout out this week, after two weeks on their own, PERFECTLY IN SYNC!??

OK, so I had confirmation of an extremely productive conversation this week.

GO KIMMIE!  GO MO!

Make it happen…and remember…I’m watching (bodybugg online peeks) and looking forward to your upcoming week’s awesome results!!!!

Weight loss can NEVER be all or nothing. Every food choice is just that - another CHOICE!! Every time we move matters -- it doesn't HAVE to be a sweat session at the gym. If all I can squeeze in is a quick walk around the block or a lap up and down the office stairs, I know is better than NOTHING!! Just keep that voice in your head...calories in, calories out.... We've GOT this ladies!

I love Apex bars and shakes! When I finish working out I go for the workout shake. I feel so tired after my workout. I'ts almost like I could fall to sleep on the way home from the gym. The shake wakes me up and gives me energy quicker than anything else I have ever tried! I keep a couple bars in my purse at all times. This way I have something to eat when life gets in the way or my plans change.

LOVE the Apex bars...living in FL it is hot here so I need something that will not melt that I can leave in my car or bag- The iced oatmeal cinnamon roll when put in the microwave for a few seconds paired with a great cup of coffee or tea is PERFECT on the run (like a cinnabon without all the added junk & calories)...be prepared for sure that always helps with making not so good choices when in a rush.
GREAT JOB LADIES!!!
